Our first winemaker dinner to feature sushi has us all very excited.
Our employees are hoping it doesn't sell out so they can attend but we are limiting it to 30 people so they are out of luck!

Studio Nihon proprietor, Fukiko Miyazaki is passionate about sharing her knowledge of Japanese food, sake, and culture. She will be making sushi on-site and Winemaker Christian Garvin will pair it with the wonderful summer wines of Oreana.

The summer of love returns to Santa Barbara on Friday April 30th at Oreana Winery in downtown’s Funk Zone. The winery’s summer concert series kicks off with a powerhouse trio of bands that all appeared at Woodstock!

Just like at Woodstock, this is a general admission event. There are no chairs. Country Joe McDonald starts at 7pm, followed by Quicksilver Messenger Service and Jefferson Starship begins around 9:00PM. As with all the winery’s concerts, Oreana’s delicious wines and scrumptious organic food will be on hand.
The concert is a benefit for Santa Barbara’s Unity Shoppe charity, which has felt the pain of the recession and is struggling with declining donations. The Unity Shoppe provides clothing, food, and shelter for South Coast residents who are in need.

All tickets are general admission.
Wines and food are available for purchase by the glass.
No outside food or beverages will be allowed.
All bags are subject to search.

6pm - Hangover Hat Day Extravaganza

The making of New Year's resolutions is at once the most optimistic and cynical of acts. Oreana Winery in Santa Barbara is proud to promote the liberation of these constraints with the annual Hangover Hat Day Extravaganza on Friday, Junuary 22 at 6:00pm. There will be three local live bands - Jade Redd & Friends, One Two Tree and Corn, Beef & Hash - and gourmet foods from Chef Jake Reimer.
National Hat Day, and we will be giving away prizes for the ugliest and most bizzare headwear on-site.

All this wrapped up in a festive, winter-like setting with ice sculptures, chillin' wintery sounds and warm hot cider. Oreana will also release it's long awaited Syrah Port, known affectionately as "The Eliminator." ADMISSION IS FREE IF YOU WEAR A HAT.

6pm - 9pm Urban Wine Trail Trolley Tour

Santa Barbara’s downtown wine trail, consisting of 11 wineries located within the city limits, and the Unity Shoppe have teamed up to give holiday revelers a safe and fun adventure in their own backyard.
On Dec. 5th at 6:00PM guests can tour the unique Urban Wine Trail in the comfort of a trolley. Each winery will pour limited release wines from Santa Barbara County accompanied by delicious appetizers. The trolley, donated by Santa Barbara Trolley Company will shuttle people from winery to winery, although many of the wineries located in the downtown Funk Zone are within walking distance of one another.

Participating wineries include Carr Vineyards & Winery, Jaffurs Wine Cellars, Kalyra Winery, Kunin Wines, Oreana Winery, Santa Barbara Winery, Summerland Winery, Westerly Vineyards, Whit-craft Winery, Wine Cask Alliance, and the newest addition to the Urban Wine Trail, Municipal Winemakers.

6pm - Oreana Beaver Moon Festival

In ancient times every full moon had its own name based on the crop that was being harvested at the time. This includes things like Beaver. The Beaver Moon occurs in October presumably to celebrate the slaughter of, well, beavers... At any rate,we got out of that business a while ago and now it's just wine here at Oreana. Those of you who have hung out here know that the only thing we do better than make wine is throw a party - complete with gourmet foods, live music and all of our new wine releases.

5pm - 9pm Oreana 5th Anniversary Party!

5th anniversary on the 5th of July. Come party on the 5th, because the 4th is SO 18th Century! Live music starts at 6pm on our stage featuring Spencer the Gardner and Tommy & The High Pilots. The Burger Bus will be serving food and the movie JAWS will be projected on our movie screen at 9pm to cap the night off!

6pm - 10pm 3rd Annual Red and White Bash

Avoid the holiday party burnout by “going big” early in the month. Forget those Friday and Saturday night traditional gigs,
Wednesday is the new weekend.
Help us support the Santa Barbara Unity Shoppe by drinking wine, meeting some weird people and listening to the great tunes of our own house band, Tommy & The High Pilots.
Admission is free and all proceeds benefit the Unity Shoppe. Silent Auction, styrofoam snowball fights and great local foods. This year will also mark the return of our intoxicatingly popular Beaujolais, aptly named Barely Legal. Only 25 cases are made each vintage and this will be the only chance to get a taste or a bottle.
In lieu of admission, a donation of Peanut Butter is requested,
as it is the single most important item distributed by the
Unity Shoppe. None of that store brand stuff either. Jiff, Skippy or Peter Pan please.

5pm - 8:30pm Parade of Lights Cruise

Benefit for the Santa Barbara Unity Shoppe. Join the forty decorated boats on parade along the Santa Barbara coastline.
You will enjoy a cruise on the luxurious Channel Cat catamaran, past Stearn’s Wharf celebrating the beginning of the Holiday Season. You will be entertained with fireworks, fabulous hors d’oeuvres, Oreana wines will be flowing and there will be a cash bar.
Please reserve your space early.
Boarding Time: 5 p.m sharp! Disembark: 8:30pm

1pm - 6pm ROCKTOBERFEST

To celebrate the Harvest of 2008 we are having our annual festival of wine, food and rock n roll. Come see the wine being made and enjoy our new releases, food from our favorite restaurants in Santa Barbara, and hear lots of local music culminating into the crescendo of the legendary Quicksilver Messenger Service - the band the 60s forgot...
Proceeds to benefit Santa Barbara’s Unity Shoppe charity.

1pm - ??? Weiners and Wine

If you missed last year’s party or simply passed out and forgot, join the culinary dynamo of gourmet hot dogs and hand-crafted local wine this Fourth of July Weekend. The mobile hot dog & slider grill of the already-infamous Lettuce b. Frank will be stationed at the downtown cooperative winery Cellar 205(now Oreana Winery), along with locally made beer from Telegraph Brewing. Live music by several local sensations all featured “country-style” on the back of a flatbed truck . . .

7pm - The Last Waltz

A historic showing of Martin Scorcese’s rockumentary, The Last Waltz, which chronicles the final concert of The Band. We have chosen the day of Rick Danko’s death to celebrate his life.
Somebody once said Danko had a tear in his voice.
Bring your own food and chairs, this will be an indoor showing so space is limited.
Admission is free, wine is available for purchase.

10pm JAWSFEST

Celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the film that launched Steven Spielberg's career. Our winery is located right next to the beach where the fireworks rain down on the shores of Santa Barbara, usually around 9:00PM.
Our showing of the film will start immediately after the fireworks.
As we have done in the past, our proprietary wine-based beverage called "Chum" will be served. Run time is 120 minutes.
Dress warm and bring your own chairs.
Admission is free, wine is not.
